30 days Nu-Who meme Day 7: Favorite Episode

Oh... this was a very hard one to decide, there are so many wonderful episodes to choose from, that told great stories over the last five years.  So I decided the best way to choose my favorite was to look at the ones that was so aesthetically pleasing to me.  Where the use lighting and scenery helped to tell the story.  Once I narrowed it down to four episodes I choose the one that spoke to me the most.  So here is my result...Vincent and the Doctor. 

The scenery in the episode was gorgeous and beautiful; why wouldn't it be they used Vincent Van Gogh's paintings as inspiration.  The lighting was brilliant and set the mood nicely.  The story did have a bad alien, I think it was a Griffas(sp), but as the story progressed it wasn't just about the alien; but it was about Vincent through his bouts of depression saw the world through and artist eyes.   

It also was the episode in which the Doctor acknowledged that him and Amy being there( in Vincent's time) could really go bad. It is also the first time the Doctor admitted that 'sometimes winning was not very good at all' referring to the fact that the Griffas was blind and should have lived.  It is also the first time that I saw Matt Smith really convey emotion as the scenes progressed;  fear, uncertainty, impatience, comedy, sympathy were a few that I saw.  This was the episode that officially the Eleventh Doctor became my favorite of the new series.

AS an artist I think you would really like this episode they actually recreated some of Van Gough paintings into a live scene it was very cool. The imagery was very impressionest.

Oh how I wish our homework would go do itself I have to finish up one more paper tonight and I am really not looking forward to doing it.
